Arkham Horror Toolkit app good for
Saves a lot of time and space at the table, and the expansions are pretty cheap. More like this FFG!
FFFG please add ability to track multiple investigators!!!
If to do I will buy the addons
This app is a great companion to the AH board game. Were currently using it for encounters and like the table space it saves us. The die roller is good, though our group prefers the tactile experience of real dice.
One thing Ill mention is the incorrect stat groupings on Trish Scarborough. They are currently the same as the other investigators (SPEED/SNEAK, FIGHT/WILL, LORE/LUCK) instead of her unique groupings of FIGHT/SNEAK, LORE/WILL and SPEED/LUCK.
That and a few bad spelling errors on the cards keep this app from truly reaching the quality level of real world FF products. With a fix youll have a perfect five star companion.
Awesome app, very pretty, just needs retina display when rolling dice! Good Job!
This app is great but could use an ipad version and something for the AH mansions of madness
Not bad, but there is a problem:
Some characters (Darrell Simmons, Gloria Goldberg, Jim Culver) have special abilities during encounters: draw two cards, instead of one, or additional color, during Another Worlds Encounters.
The app couldnt draw cards this way, so, I have to play with real cards, when I use one of listed characters.
It would be great, to add this feature!
The russian localization, would be great too!
----
Some bad moments
App is responsive, and detailed info is present for the cards. The only thing I really docked stars for is the price of the expansions. $2.99?? Really?
This app has three tools that make playing the Arkham Horror board game slightly easier - a virtual character sheet, a dice roller, and location cards, all of which work poorly. Thats all - no item cards, no Ancient One cards, no monster trophy tracking. The advertised "interactive maps" are just an alternate (and impractical because of the iPhones small screen, even with Retina) menu for selecting which location card to draw.
There is NO interaction between the three tools. If you draw a location card that involves a skill check, the obvious design choice would have been for the app to check the current value of the skill on your character card and then roll the appropriate number of dice. But that would have required Fantasy Flight to not be openly comptemptuous of their customers! Needless to say, the app does not let you interact with other players who are also using their own copy of the app, such as by letting you give them money.
Even the individual tools are bad. The character sheet lets you adjust your stats as much as you like without any warning about exceeding your focus value. The dice roller tool is laughably terrible with inexplicably blurry non-Retina graphics, "bouncy" dice (which you have to roll individually) and a noticeable delay before successes are recognized. The location cards actually work well as a replacement for the physical cards, but there is an annoying animation played for each card drawn and you have to buy each expansions cards separately.
The claim that this app is especially good for solitaire play is also ridiculous if you want to play with more than one character, because it only tracks one character at a time.
We can t choose more than one character and it s just so ridiculous. A great waste of money.
Ive been using this for years six nice we play with all the expansions and I dont have enough room for all the location decks.
Ive reported several bugs to Fantasy Flight support but have never received so much as an acknowledgement.
I wouldnt pick this up if youre starting now.
Allow to add only one investigator what destroy whole idea of easy party playing with app
This is an excellent game aid, and actually frees up a lot of real estate on the table by allowing me to put the location decks away for good.
